Nick Owens, or ‘Beard’ as he’s known, was 5 years old when his Dad gave him an AR15 to shoot, and put a band aid on one eye to keep it shut. Growing up he had access to several long range shooting but it wasn't until 2007 when his wife bought him a .308 Remington Police. He put a MK4 Leopold 16x on it and that’s when he began to appreciate long range shooting.
In 2009 Nick competed in his first rifle match in Prescott AZ and since then “it has consumed my life”. He continued competing in many matches, and began PRS as of 2013, participating in AZ, CA, WA, UT, NM, CO, FL, TN, TX, OK, and NV, investing a lot of time and money into the sport. That led him to building his own guns to save money and word of mouth as to his quality work led to Owens Armory being established, which led to his buddy Tomas Meraz moving to AZ to help get it off the ground.
The last two years he's been blending the competitive with long range hunting, hosting a competition he called the Owens Battle Royale.
