Dr. Bernard Bendok
Dr. Bernard R. Bendok is the Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic in Arizona and the William J. and Charles H. Mayo Professor of Neurosurgery in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He was recruited from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago where he was a professor and director of the Neurovascular Surgery Program.
Dr. Bendok’s clinical practice is focused on the microsurgical, interventional and
radiosurgical management of complex brain tumors and neurovascular
diseases. His research is focused on innovations in minimally invasive surgery and precision surgery including augmented reality and image guided techniques. He is an editorial board member of several journals and actively involved in teaching and mentoring.
Dr. Bendok has been awarded grants from the National Institutes of Health as well as
various foundations. He has over 250 peer reviewed papers, 2 books, and 100 book
chapters related to his research and clinical practice.
