Bob Northrup
Bob Northrup was a residential builder for about 25 years. He started a small elk ranch in 1996 at his residence to try out raising Elk. After deciding he liked it, in 1999 he started a partnership with Al Hardman to expand and developed Amber Elk Ranch in Ludington Michigan.
Bob had a sizable investment in the ranch and was overseeing it pretty much full time, drifting away from contracting. In 2006 Bob bought Al’s share of the Ranch. As part of the ranch business he books and conducts hunts Off-Premise on hunting preserves. Amber Elk Ranch is open to the public and you can visit their breeding ranch for wagon ride tours Memorial weekend through mid-October.
