Michelle L. Vignari RN, CIC currently is the Director of Infection Prevention and Disaster Preparedness for Thomson Health in Canandaigua, NY. With more than 20 years practical clinical experience, specialties include surgical nursing, clinical leadership, Board Certified specialty in infection prevention and trained in hospital epidemiology principles. In 2011, she was one of 12 professionals chosen nationally by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology as a Hero in Infection Prevention and in 2017 was awarded the March of Dimes’ Nurse of the Year Award in the area of Infection Prevention. She is an active member of APIC and has served as past president of APIC’s Finger Lakes Chapter along with several publications. She also continues to serve as a regulatory compliance subject matter expert and consultant in the area of Infection Prevention.
