David Charles


David is a Greek-American-Brazilian filmmaker living in Los Angeles. At a young age David lost his mother who was his best friend and ever since it's been a goal of his to use this experience in everything he does. His work focuses on using creativity, art and dreamscapes to tackle difficult subject matter such as the Holocaust, Human and gay rights and creating reconsideration for death. Charles is a Sundance New Frontier and Documentary Lab Fellow and on the board of the Art Directors Club. He's currently in post-production with his second feature documentary about the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir touring the Deep South. He is also creating an original series with Youtube Red in collaboration with Disney creator Gary Baseman and Oscar winning producers Stacey Sher (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained and Pulp Fiction) and Vincent Landay (Her, Where the Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich).
