Heather McNelis


Heather McNelis leads the National Association of Development Companies’ branding and messaging efforts as its director of marketing communications since 2013. She creates NADCO’s branded content for key audiences that include legislative and executive branch elected and appointed officials, oversees its national membership communications, and maintains its online presence.
Prior to NADCO, Heather served as director of media & marketing at eAdvantage, where she led media and messaging efforts an online blended-learning environment for U.S. military veteran entrepreneurs.
Heather earned her bachelor’s from James Madison University in corporate communications, public relations, technical editing, and mixed media and design. She also served as a staff writer for JMU's student newspaper, The Breeze, where she reported on university cultural activities. She is currently working on her MBA at George Mason University.
