Claire Priestley is founder of CIO+1, a not-for-profit initiative designed to improve diversity in tech leadership within IT, launched in 2017. She is Director of IT at City, University of London where she is supported by a team of 135 staff covering a technical estate of 23 buildings over 5 locations, and 20,000 users. Claire is an accredited member of the International Association of Facilitators, and has held a Practitioner role for over 6 years. She is a mentor and role model on the Aurora ‘Women in Leadership’ programme. Last year Claire launched ‘Connectivity across London'. Claire won ‘Future CIO of the Year’ at the 2017 Innovation Age ‘Women in IT Awards’ and was a finalist in the ‘CIO of the Year’ category 2018. She founded ‘Fighting Fit for the Community’ in South London, focused on building a stronger sense of community through empowering young people, and developing life-skills through boxing. Claire took up the sport five years ago and hasn’t yet lost a fight!
