James Harrington


James founded the Ugandan Water Project in 2008 with the vision to leverage clean drinking water projects to help communities transform themselves out of poverty. The organization has completed more than 430 major projects serving more than 150,000 people across Uganda.
Under James’ leadership, UWP’s team achieved innovative improvements to standard practices in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene projects resulting in a set of solutions recognized as among the best-in-class in Uganda. As an Opportunity Collaboration Delegate since 2014, James has participated in a collaborative community of world-class non-profit and social-enterprise leaders from more than 50 countries collaborating on poverty alleviation from policy to implementation on the ground.
Over the past decade, James has accumulated a proven combination of strategic skills and experience through his work in East Africa and is pivoting to add practical value to teams and individuals hungry to overcome persistent obstacles.
