Kate Benedict
Kate Benedict is a 17-year-old high school student at Lakehill Preparatory School in Dallas, TX. Before attending Lakehill, Kate pursued ballet as her career and completed online classes to accommodate her demanding, dance-centered schedule. The pinnacle of her dance career was training and performing with the Boston Ballet in July-August, 2016. Having moved on from dancing, Kate has discovered her different strengths and unique ways to continue to express herself, including writing and public speaking. Presenting in front a large audience feels comfortable due to her many years dancing alone on stage. Writing allows her to express herself in a creative way and includes penning poetry and song lyrics. As she finishes high school, evaluating and applying for college, Kate looks forward to expanding how she lives a life with purpose. Kate is considering a career as a global broadcast journalist and sees this path building on the talents she cultivated in dance.
