Vance Shaffer
Vance Shaffer studied Computer Science and Mathematics at University of Cincinnati and has spent his life in that arena. When his wife, Linda, was diagnosed with breast cancer, his life changed. He watched her struggle with a very complex procedure that, with his background in science, knew it didn?t need to be that hard. In 2008 he began the quest for a better way to clear surgical drains. Over the next 10 years, Vance developed a tool that has the potential to help people across the globe. His method now exists and is being used at various hospitals including Mayo Clinic, Moffitt Cancer Center, Ohio State University, and others.
