Dr.Anna Price

Dr. Anna Price has worked in academic support for over 40 years.She directed the Upward Bound Program at the University of Miami for fifteen years and sent countless number of students to college. In 1988, she was hired to be the Asst. Athletic Director of Student Support Services at the”U”. While in that position, she developed the academic support model for Student-Athletes which has been replicated nationally. She served in that capacity for 8 years and guided the University’s football players to a graduation rate of more than seventy per cent. She developed a multidimensional plan to help students look beyond their sport playing days, no matter the sport. Dr. Price retired from the University of Miami in 1998 to serve as Mayor of the City of South Miami. Dr. Price’s education includes a BA in Sociology from Central State University, a MS Economics from Wright State University, a MA in Liberal Studies and a Ph.D. in Administration of Higher Education from the University of Miami.
