Ted writes full time on fish and wildlife issues. In addition to authoring rare books and freelancing for national publications, he contributes the monthly Recovery column for The Nature Conservancys online magazine, Cool Green Science. He also serves as CEO of the Native Fish Coalition. In June 2015 Williams was recognized by the Outdoor Writers Association of America OWAA as the nations best outdoor columnist for his final three Incite columns in Audubon. Williams has also received the annual Conservation Achievement Award from the National Wildlife Federation, the Federal Wildlife Officers Association Award from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Aldo Leopold Award from the Federation of Fly Fishers, the Conservationist of the Year Award from the Coastal Conservation Association of New York, and the top conservation award Jade of Chiefs from OWAA. He is a former information officer for the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife.
