Jim Williams

Jim Williams has spent his entire life finding the wild. Leaving Iowa farm country to San Diego, as a young surf bum turned biology student. Jim is an award winning, professionally certified wildlife biologist with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks for the last 27 years. His undergraduate degree with emphasis on marine biology and his graduate degree in wildlife biology from Montana State University in Bozeman, and his master’s degree in mountain lion ecology on Montana's Rocky Mountain Front, and has focused on mountain lion and other wildlife conservation issues in various roles ever since. Jim works with private agricultural landowners and wildlife biologists on wildlife tolerance in the US, Chile and Argentina. In October of 2018, Patagonia Inc. published his new book, Path of the Puma, which shares some of those adventures and the story of mountain lion conservation in the Americas. Jim and his wife Melora reside in Montana’s Flathead Valley just west of Glacier National Park.
