Michael Emerson
Michael Emerson, VP Planning Product Strategy, SAP, started his career developing applications for the investment banking division of Société Générale in Paris. After almost six years in banking, he moved to Vancouver to study and do an internship at SAP to work with some of the early predictive libraries in HANA to support forecasting and planning processes. In 2013, Michael moved to Switzerland to work on a real estate start-up, before returning to SAP at the newly opened Innovation Centre in Potsdam, where he took on the position of Chief Project Expert in the Line of Business Finance. After three years, he joined Bernd Leukert’s board office as Chief Product Strategist and contributed to the formulation of SAP’s Intelligent Enterprise strategy. In early 2019, he came full circle back to his current finance-focused role. Michael studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh, and also holds an MBA from UBC, specialised in Finance and IT Management.
