Simon Mui

Simon Mui researches and advocates for cleaner vehicles and fuels in order to reduce the impacts of transportation systems on the environment. Prior to joining NRDC, Mui worked in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, where he coauthored studies on plug-in electric vehicles and climate-mitigation strategies. He has also served as a fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and worked as an engineer developing lithium-ion batteries for a startup company. He holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s in technology and policy, and a PhD in materials engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is based in San Francisco.
