Joyce McFadden NCPsyA, LCSW is the author of the groundbreaking book Modern Mothering, based on her unprecedented study of 450 women, in which women’s primary area of interest was - how girls learn about sexuality from their mothers. Modern Mothering is considered “an empowering resource for mothers and daughters everywhere” and is currently being taught in university women’s studies programs. Joyce McFadden is a faculty member, training analyst and clinical supervisor at the Training and Research Institute for Self-Psychology, board member of the National Council on Women’s Health, member of the Women’s Mental Health Consortium, and sexuality consultant for an independent girls’ school. Her research has appeared on NPR and in The New York Times, The Washington Post, O The Oprah Magazine, The Detroit Free Press, New York.
