Lori La Bey, founder of Alzheimer's Speaks, a Minnesota based advocacy group and media outlet, creates international impact by providing much needed education and support for those living with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias. Her passion stems from seeing her own mother struggle with dementia for 30 years. In 2011, she started Alzheimer's Speaks Radio ,believed to be the first radio show in the world dedicated to dementia, and a webinar series called "Dementia Chats" where people living with dementia share their experiences and insights. In 2020. she launched Dementia quick tips, which she wished was available when her mother was struggling with dementia. In 2011, she launched what is believed to be the first memory cafe in Roseville, MN and in 2013 she ignited the fire behind the first dementia friendly community in the U.S. in Watertown, WI. She is also the founding member of the Alzheimer's and Dementia Community Action Team in Roseville, MN.
