Barry W. Lynn has been an activist for justice since he was anti-Vietnam war in the 60's. He spent last 25 years as Executive Director of Americans United for Separation of Church & State, retiring 2017. He is a vigorous opponent of governmental intrusion into the choices of women & the LGBTQ community. Prior to his work there, he was legislative counsel for national office of the American Civil Liberties Union defending free speech rights of all people, was widely credited with destroying the last major sexual imagery censorship effort: the Ed Meese Commission on Pornograhy. Lynn has appeared on virtually every significant American TV, radio show. He is the only person to ever win a freedom of speech award from the Playboy Foundation and a "freedom of worship" medal from the Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt Foundation. He is a member of the Supreme Court bar and an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ (This means he can forgive you today and still sue you tomorrow).
