Dr. J.D. LaRock

A respected educator, scholar, and policy expert, Dr. J.D. LaRock is the President & CEO of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), a global educational nonprofit focused on bringing the power of entrepreneurship to youth. Dr. LaRock joins NFTE from the Commonwealth Corporation, Massachusetts’ authority focused on workforce and economic development. Previously he served as senior education advisor to Senator Ted Kennedy and as education policy director for Governor Deval Patrick. He also served as chief of staff to the president of Northeastern University. In addition to his work at NFTE, Dr. LaRock serves as Professor of the Practice of Law and Policy at Northeastern and as a Fellow with the Aspen Institute’s Economic Opportunities program. Dr. LaRock has a B.A., Masters, and Ed.D from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University.
