Melissa Bedward

Melissa Bedward, MS, RNC-OB, C-EFM, began her nursing career in 2007 in the medical/surgical unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, NY. In 2011, she transitioned to Labor and Delivery where she found her passion for maternal-child medicine. After receiving a master’s degree in Nursing Leadership from Stony Brook University in 2019, she started a new role as an RN Lactation Specialist. During this time, she helped prepare the maternal child department for the Baby-Friendly Designation on-site survey. Melissa received an award from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in recognition of and appreciation for her outstanding service. In the midst of a pandemic, Melissa was able to meet one of her professional goals and became an IBCLC in 2020. She is now an OB/GYN Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY where she is currently developing affordable prenatal breastfeeding classes.
