President & CEO Network of Executive Women Sarah Alter is president and CEO of the Network of Executive Women, nonprofit learning, leadership, and gender equality advocacy organization of 13,500 members (representing nearly 900 organizations), 300+ national and regional corporate partners, and 22 regional groups in the United States and Canada. NEW advances gender equality and diversity in the retail, consumer goods, financial services, and technology industries. Alter joined NEW in 2017 and has wide-ranging experience in the markets NEW represents. During her tenure, Sarah has successfully focused on people to accelerate NEW’s stated mission: Advancing All Women. NEW under Sarah has focused on supporting women of color, building male allyship, and the new generation coming into our workforce. Membership in NEW has grown by 23% since she joined the organization. She has hired thought leaders from organizations such as The Coca-Cola Company, Chicago Board of Options Exchange and T-Mobile, to diversify our leadership team. NEW has applied successful and current business practices, creating social impact, and news outlets such as The Wall Street Journal have referenced NEW as a voice of authority. NEW has also added board members from Google, Visa, Walmart, and Deloitte to enable the diversity and financial support needed to go further, faster. Sarah is a regular speaker at NRF, ShopTalk, the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), and EnsembleIQ!
