Birlie Bourgeois

Birlie has 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. He joined Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico in 2001 as a Drilling Representative in Deepwater and Shelf assets. He spent the first 8 years of his career in production, reservoir and operations roles in the Shelf and Deepwater mature assets and large projects. Birlie moved to Bakersfield, California in 2009 to lead a large field redevelopment project. In this role he also heavily supported efforts with the State of California on regulatory and permitting matters. In 2013, he moved to Canada as the Manager of Planning and Strategy. In this role, he supported the organization in leading business planning and corporate reporting efforts on large operated and non-operated projects spanning from oil sands and unconventional resources to deepwater projects. Subsequent assignments have continued to broaden his enterprise experience; asset leadership as the Trinidad Asset Manager in South America, technology roles as the Digital OC Program Manager and business/commercial exposure as Strategic Advisor in Corporate Business Development. Birlie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from LSU and is a licensed professional engineer in petroleum engineering in the state of Louisiana (#32123). He is married with 4 daughters. He has been active in inclusion efforts in the Women’s Employee Network MARC program as a pilot program participant in 2017 and Houston-area program Co-Director in 2018 and 2019.
