Picking yourself up after a career-ending injury is one of the most challenging and daunting tasks for an athlete. Keyen Lage, a former football player, sustained an injury that effectively ended his football career. However, he managed to turn that into a positive and started on a new journey in his life. Lage, born in 1993 in South Dakota, was destined for greatness as a football player for the Kansas City Chiefs until the doctors told him that any more football would put him at risk of paralysis. As an athlete, Lage was heartbroken – football was his life. He did not know what to do – his life-long dream had been shattered. Stuck in his parents’ basement in South Dakota, Lage was trapped in a negative cycle for a while, not knowing how to start living again. He decided to start reading and spent a month and a half in the library. He eventually came across a book, The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton that completely changed his life. It inspired him to look at life from a different perspective – being healthy from the inside out. Since then, Lage has dedicated his life to helping people find joy and fulfillment in all situations. He knows the feeling of being at the top of your game but finding fulfillment in your achievements only and not in yourself as a person. “The emotional issues of high performers are very real, and I want to give a voice to them. I want to show them that their internal issues are real and, if not addressed, can lead to extreme chaos.
