Mark Parkinson is the President and CEO of the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living which represents more than 14,000 nursing homes and assisted living residences throughout the United States. Prior to serving as the 45th governor of Kansas he owned and operated long term care facilities in both Kansas and Missouri bringing to his position an understanding of the landscape from an insiders perspective. Under Mark Parkinson’s leadership, the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living are responsible for delivering policy solutions to improve care in our nations nursing homes and assisted living residences to both Capitol Hill and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. In his stunning role at the helm of these organizations, Mark Parkinson has been named 1 of the country’s top 100 lobbyists for 8 consecutive years but The Hill, A Capitol Hill newspaper and has also been named as 1 of the most influential people in healthcare by Modern Healthcare in 2015 and 2020.
