Lindsay Cross is a candidate for Florida House of Representatives, District 68. Lindsay has 20 years of experience as an environmental scientist and conservation advocate, tackling tough water quality and other environmental problems in Tampa Bay and statewide. She has had leadership roles in government and non-profit, including as Executive Director for the Florida Wildlife Corridor organization. She worked for 14 years at one of the nation’s most respected partnership organizations, the Tampa Bay Estuary Program. During her tenure, water quality in the bay improved dramatically and seagrass rebounded to levels not seen since the 1950s. In 2018, Lindsay was recruited to run for the Florida State Senate after a candidate dropped out. With only 100 days before the election, Lindsay launched an aggressive, people-first campaign, earning 46% of the votes against a wealthy incumbent. The experience was both energizing and humbling and Lindsay has stayed engaged with legislative issues and local community causes. She currently works as a nonprofit professional where she advocates for the environment and healthy communities for everyone.Lindsay holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Colorado State University. District 68 encompasses portions of eastern Pinellas County, including parts of St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park.
