Charles Bowman

Charles F. Bowman is a respected Senior Software Architect with over 35 years of experience developing software systems and applications. As Managing Partner with Polygon Partners, LLC, and Principal at SoftWright Solutions, Inc., Mr. Bowman has served as Chief Architect and Chief Enterprise Architect for numerous prestigious clients. Mr. Bowman has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses at St. John’s University, the City University of New York, and St. Thomas Aquinas College in math and computer science. Mr. Bowman has been a regular contributor to many respected journals and has served as Editor-in-Chief for several industry publications, including The X Journal and UNIX Developer. He currently serves as Series Editor for the How Things Work series at CRC Press. Mr. Bowman has published several books, including Algorithms and Data Structures: An Approach in C (HBJ/Oxford University Press); Objectifying Motif (Cambridge University Press/SIGs); Wisdom of the Gurus (Cambridge University Press/SIGs); and Broadway: The Complete Internet Architecture (Addison/Wesley). His most recent title, How Things Work: The Computer Science Edition (CRC Press), comes available in August 2021. A graduate of New York’s prestigious Brooklyn Technical High School, Mr. Bowman holds a BS in Computer Science from St. John’s University and an MS in Computer Science from New York University. He is currently a member of both Mensa and Intertel.
