Beth Dessen Duffy
Beth Dessen Duffy studied Landscape Architecture and in her 3rd year changed majors and graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Education. Beth transitioned from educating others about home energy conservation at Florida Power and Light Company to several corporate lobbying positions in Pennsylvania. A large segue was from Senior Public Affairs Representative at PECO (then the Philadelphia Electric Company) to Director of Public Affairs at the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Twenty years ago, Beth and her family started decorating paper Christmas trees with paper ornaments earned by completing kind acts. The goal was/is to have the tree decorated by Dec 25 and to help keep the focus on kindness and giving. Now this same activity is available for all to enjoy being kind and creative by downloading the Christmas Tree of Kindness App with app activity, story (heroes are a young evergreen tree named Spruce and puppy friend Holly) and printable craft.
