Marcia Berger

I’ve been a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist for over 30 years. My mission is to help people create lasting emotionally and spiritually fulfilling marriages, whether they are currently single or married, and other more satisfying relationships. Other areas I can help with include transitions, depression, anxiety, alcoholism, other addictions, bipolar disorders, co-parenting challenges, divorce, grief, adoption, creativity, and stage-of-life issues. The social work profession does not focus on pathology (what’s wrong with someone) but notes and builds on people’s strengths. As the saying goes, “You don’t chase away the darkness with a stick.” I offer new ways to understand your issues and tools and techniques to deal with them effectively. My Jewish heritage and learning inform my work as a therapist and author. Chassidic philosophy emphasizes using the light within us to counter and overcome our challenges. Bringing light is part of any good therapy. While I love working with couples, individuals, and families face-to-face, I realize I can help many more people by writing books.
