Julie Doherty-Kowalski

Julie Doherty-Kowalski is currently serving as the lead trustee for a private trust and her responsibilities include the management of financial planning and investments, tax planning, and distributions to beneficiaries. She previously served as the lead for select bilateral and multilateral initiatives in the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE} Office of International Affairs for partnerships with Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, the Summit of the Americas, the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas, the United Arab Emirates (UAE}, the Power Africa Working Group, and the International Energy Agency's (IEA} Standing Group for Global Energy Dialogue. Prior to DOE, Ms. Doherty was the Director of Government and Public Affairs at Methanex Corporation, the largest producer and supplier of methanol in the world with headquarters in Vancouver, Canada. Ms. Doherty-Kowalski has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish for International Service with a minor in Economics from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Arts in International Development with a specialization in Development Economics from American University. She is fluent in Spanish and has published numerous articles and analysis reports related to energy and the environment. Ms. Doherty­Kowalski enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering for organizations related to education, building leadership skills for girls, and international development.
