Pat O’Brien

Pat O’Brien is the Executive Director of the Adoptive & Foster Family Coalition of New York, after recently serving for 2.5 years as the Director of the Coalition’s post adoption program called AGAPE in both Long Island and Rockland County. Pat is the Founder and former CEO of You Gotta Believe! The Older Child Adoption & Permanency Movement, Inc., a nationally acclaimed homeless prevention program that finds adoptive and permanent parents and families for teens, and young adults on the verge of aging out of the foster care system. Prior to starting his work with the Coalition, Pat finished a 29 month commitment as a recruiter for Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, the signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, with Klingberg Family Centers in New Britain Connecticut. Pat currently produces and hosts the Coalition’s weekly radio broadcast/podcast “After the Kids Move In”, which airs live every Sunday evening from 6:30-7 p.m. on WGBB radio 1240 AM on Long Island. Pat also serves on the Board of Directors of the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC), and on the Advisory Board of the Treehouse Foundation, a community of foster and adoptive parents living together with caring neighbors.
