Ron Flatter

With 46 years of sports journalism experience, including four major networks on two continents, Ron Flatter, 63, is in his third year as managing editor of Horse Racing Nation and fifth year hosting the weekly Ron Flatter Racing Pod. Before arriving at the home office of racing in Kentucky, Flatter spent four years in Las Vegas as a host and anchor specializing in horse racing on VSiN, the Vegas Stats & Information Network. Before that he worked 10 years in New York radio, where he was heard regularly on ESPN Radio, SiriusXM, CBS Sports Radio, WFAN, 1010 WINS and Fox News Radio. Flatter worked with VSiN host Brent Musburger from 1993 to 2004 and again from 2017 to 2021. Flatter's career has taken from his hometown of Chico, Calif., to stops around the country and even three years as the in-house, international correspondent in Melbourne, Australia, for RSN927, a station for which he continued to report on worldwide sports another 12 years after returning to the U.S. Flatter has covered 13 Super Bowls, soccer's World Cup and multiple Olympics, World Series, NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals. Flatter's last 18 years of work have been been centered primarily on horse racing. He has covered the last 15 springtime runnings of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, 18 Belmont Stakes, 14 Breeders' Cups and 13 editions of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in addition to the Pegasus World Cup, Dubai World Cup, British Champion Stakes and Arlington Million.
