Cary Kim, Chief Survivor Experience Officer
Cary joined Handful in 2011after trying on her first Handful Bra and finally finding the answer to a five-year search for a bra that would work for her body after breast cancer. Cary had a double mastectomy in 2007 with no reconstruction, instead opting for aesthetic flat closure. Realizing that there were other modern, active survivors who might benefit from the Handful Bra whether they had a lumpectomy, mastectomy or reconstruction, Cary enthusiastically went to work managing survivor relations and became a part owner of the company. Cary was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, graduated from Reed College, and has lived in South Korea, Amsterdam, and New York City before returning to the Portland area to raise her two daughters.
