Tamika Henry MD

As a board-certified family physician, Dr. Tamika Henry specializes in functional medicine. Her mission is to stop the problem before it occurs and create a practice where reactive medicine isn’t necessary by using functional medicine to see what stressors and other sources are causing illness in her patients. She seeks to create an environment that enables her to connect with her patients, encouraging them to embrace life and set forth on a path that develops personal well-being, inner and outer beauty, and a healthier lifestyle. In her practice, Dr. Tamika works with patients nationwide, including a wide roster of celebrity clients. Along with being a family physician, Dr. Tamika also has a best-selling book Author of “The Unlimited You Detox” and number one podcast Rock It with Dr. Tamika • A podcast on Anchor. Dr. Tamika was in the hospital quite regularly as a child because she had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Sometimes, she would have a flare-up and be in terrible pain. Other days, she would not ache at all. As she got older, she had fewer in-patient stays, but her early experiences had led her to want to become a doctor. She wanted to make people feel better, smile, and feel comfortable during their stay in the hospital. She also wanted to help her family, which has been plagued with all kinds of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, elevated cholesterol, heart failure, knee replacements, obesity, gastric bypass, and a multitude of other medical issues. Between her experiences as a child, her desire to help others, and her family history of disease, she knew that she had to find a way to get to medical school, no matter what it took. When she is not training her patients in the art of personal health and wellness, Dr. Henry enjoys spending time with her family and Great Dane. Though she leads a busy life like the rest of us, she is intentional about leading by example. As an exercise enthusiast, you can often find Dr. Henry hiking, cardio strength-training, dancing, or trying any new class that hits the workout circuit. What she teaches her patients, she is sure to live out in her everyday life.
