Ben O’Quigley grew up on a farm in a small community south of Chicago. He didn’t take tests well in school, but received a full-ride college baseball scholarship to. He left college one year later, feeling drawn to building a career more quickly instead and believing that could change the lives of millions. His parents were teachers with humble earnings. The eldest of 5 children and the first grandchild, on both sides, when Ben launched his entrepreneurial career, he was told he was crazy. He was leaving a free education and a long-held dream of playing pro baseball to attend a technical school named DeVry Institute of Technology. He pressed on, and went to work for IBM at age 19 where he soon managed a large division of technicians and also created several algorithms for the company, eventually saving them hundreds of millions. Ben entered the mortgage space in 2001 and, 8 years later, became an orthopedic medical device implant rep. He has been in thousands of surgeries since.
