Experienced Victim Advocate with a demonstrated history of working in the civic & social organization industry. Skilled in Research, Teaching, Public Speaking, Social Media, and Training. Strong community and social services professional with a Montessori Education 3 - 15 years focused in Early Childhood Ed and Teaching from St Nicholas Montessori College. Passionate about empowering victims of crime/violence voices. Knowledgeable on the lifetime effects of trauma, PTSD and complex grief. Currently recording the lived experiences of victims of terrorism with the purpose of acknowledgement, catharsis, permanent record, education and "it" should never ever happen again. Was awarded Belfast Telegraph Inspirational Woman of the Year 2012 . Lobbied politicians in the N. Ireland Executive appearing in front of the Finance Committee leading to the legislation of The N. Ireland Civil Service Special Advisers Bill 2013, known as Ann's Law which prevents those with serious criminal convictions being awarded positions as Special Advisers unless they acknowledge the hurt caused to their victims and help the family in any way. Lobby government agencies and government on behalf of victims needs. Was a member on the Commission of Victims and Survivors Forum for 5 years from 2012 - 17. influencing many policies regarding victims and survivors of the N. Ireland troubles. Experienced also in raising issues regarding victims in both TV, radio, newspaper interviews and social media.
