Mariana Sanz
Selected in 2022 as Best PR Professional in Latin America by PR Week Global Awards, Mariana Sanz is renowned for solving complex communications challenges for Mexican and global institutions—from public sector and international organizations to private sector multi-national corporations—through her extensive agency practice. Currently CEO of Edelman Latin America, Mariana leads a diverse team that has delivered outstanding results and raised the bar on client service excellence and integrated work. She joined Edelman as General Manager of the Mexico office, where she successfully positioned the agency as one of the strongest communications firms in the market, winning key industry awards, and most importantly, the trust and loyalty of global and local clients. Prior to Edelman, she was a partner at a local strategic communications agency for ten years, and advisor on communications and institutional relations to the CEO of Pemex and the Mexican Finance Ministry. In Washington D.C., she worked for the Inter-American Development Bank. Mariana holds a BA in international relations from ITAM, an MA in international relations and international communications from Boston University, and an MA in political management from the George Washington University. She is a member of the Mexican Council of International Affairs and the Advisory Board for The Center for US-Mexican Studies at the University of California, San Diego. She lives in Mexico City with her husband and their two boys.
