Courntey Moyer
Today, we are pleased to welcome Courtney Moyer. Courtney is a joy curator, story believer, educator, father, and community leader. He has been in education for nearly 10 years. After making the life-altering choice to step out of the classroom, he began coaching male educators of color toward achieving their personal and professional goals. As rewarding as this journey has been, Courtney knew that his impact belonged on the court with the youth. He believes that joy should not be a tool that we cling to in order to survive in a world that was created for us. Instead, joy should be an emotion we experience in gratitude for the wonders of the world we live in. This is why he created BoyJoy--a space for boys of color (BOC) to create meaning and language about their personal experiences, develop relationships with their peers, and connect with the world around them. Courtney considers himself a student of life. Today, we are all students of Courtney and we are looking forward to his powerful story.
