Arnold Sampson

Arnold Sampson is a member of the Baltimore City Board of Ethics and the moderator of an older guy’s Zoom talk circle, having reinvented himself and shaken off some of the grasp of PTSD. Making no claim about his valor, Arnold is a Vietnam veteran who was a Medical Evacuation Helicopter pilot (call sign “Dustoff”) and conducted rescue missions for severely wounded soldiers. His efforts were rewarded with a Distinguished Flying Cross, five awards of the Air Medal with “V” device for heroism, a Bronze Star, a Broken Wing Award, a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star device for heroism, and two Purple Hearts. He is the author of the book, Dustoff: More Than Met The Eye, available on Amazon. Arnold is an active, seasoned, Mediator with Maryland’s Circuit Court and works as a “Standardized Patient’ for Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Nursing.
