Dr. Kwandaa Roberts
Dr. Kwandaa Roberts, an OB-Gyn, has always harbored a passion for interior design. The single mom of 2 found an outlet for that passion by creating designer dollhouses. She now has over 85,000 Instagram followers who marvel at her tiny creations. Kwandaa bought a dollhouse for her then 4-year-old daughter for Christmas and gave it a makeover. She would find herself getting up in the middle of the night to “play” with her daughter’s gift. She was immediately hooked. She knew then that she could take all her creative energy out on her own dollhouses. She spotted a Hearth and Hand by Magnolia dollhouse at Target and knew she had to have it. She spent 3 months giving the dollhouse a Fixer Upper worthy makeover. She posted the dollhouse to her new Instagram page, and it quickly went viral. Joanna Gaines even featured her in her Instagram stories. Inspired by her social media success, Kwandaa enrolled in design school, earning a certification in Interior Design. She started a successful design firm called House Calls Design Group. Since then, she has been featured in multiple media outlets including the New York Times, Architectural Digest, People Magazine, the Kelly Clarkson Show and many more. She was also casted as a featured designer on A&E’s Sell This House. Kwandaa has continued to craft her tiny designer masterpieces, inspiring countless people who have big design dreams, but dollhouse sized budgets and families to remodel heirlooms that have sat ignored for decades.
