Barbara Becker

Barbara Becker has spent the last 25 years working with human-rights activists worldwide to promote order, stability, and interreligious understanding. She has collaborated with the UN, Human Rights First, the Ms. Foundation for Women, and Bangladesh's Grameen Bank. Before she started writing her own stories, she ghosted op-ed pieces for others. As a result, she began and wrote a 365-day blog for a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her interest in end-of-life care stems from her parents' backgrounds as healthcare professionals. When she reached the age of 50, she became an interfaith minister. She was trained in compassionate end-of-life care by two Zen monks, which led her to become a "disaster chaplain" for the American Red Cross in the New York area.
