Sumana Rajagopal

As the Executive Director of Worldwide Media, Sumana Rajagopal (she/her/hers) oversees a team of professionals supporting the commercial aspects of Healthcare Professional and Consumer Media for Merck. She returned to Merck with first-hand industry knowledge of large-scale media and technology operations after seven years at ComcastNBCU. Her prior roles included architecting insights and measurement across the linear and digital ecosystem for NBCU’s One Platform. At Comcast, Sumana oversaw the growth and development of paid, owned, and addressable media for XFINITY Brands, launching both XFINITY Mobile and XFINITY Retail. Her experience brings a fresh perspective to the media industry and adds a unique set of capabilities that addresses the changing demands of the media marketplace. Sumana’s previous 12-year career at Merck started in Media Procurement, led to Marketing Communications, and culminated in Global Media roles in both the RX & OTC Divisions. Prior to joining Merck, she was a Digital Sales Representative at WashingtonPost.com and held various media planning positions at advertising agencies specializing in retail and automotive. With almost 30 years of marketing experience, Sumana’s career focus has been pushing accountability through cross channel measurement, fostering an innovation agenda, Diversity Equity Inclusion initiatives and eco sustainability efforts with rapid reapplication of best practices from local to global markets.
