Jelahn Stewart

Jelahn Stewart serves as Vice President, Global Ethics Officer, and Special Counsel for Walmart. Ms. Stewart also leads Walmart’s Criminal Justice Shared Value Network, which engages stakeholders on policies and initiatives involving the criminal justice system. Ms. Stewart joined Walmart in May 2018, as a Senior Associate Counsel in Legal Investigations where she managed global investigations of allegations of misconduct both within and impacting Walmart and its subsidiaries. She also oversaw regulatory litigation and interfaced with federal and state agencies, including the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). Prior to joining Walmart, Ms. Stewart served as a federal prosecutor for 19 years at the DOJ, in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. During her tenure at DOJ, she served in many roles including Special Counsel to the U.S. Attorney, Chief of the Victim Witness Assistance Unit, where she oversaw the Witness Protection Program, and as an Assistant United States Attorney, she prosecuted numerous complex, violent and dangerous crimes including matters relating to fraud and public corruption, human trafficking, sexual assault, terrorism, and homicide. Ms. Stewart received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California, and her Juris Doctor degree from American University's Washington College of Law.
