Tamika Thompson is the author of the speculative story collection UNSHOD, CACKLING, and NAKED (Unnerving Books) and the horror novella SALAMANDER JUSTICE (Madness Heart Press), as well as co-creator of the artist collective POC United and fiction editor for the group’s award-winning anthology, GRAFFITI. She hosts the Tamika Talks Terror blog and newsletter. Tamika started working at 4 in TV commercials, print ads, runway shows, learned to dance and sing, and won beauty pageant titles. She was drawn to acting for the characters she got to create and loved horror books and films. Tamika attended Columbia University, where she met her husband, retired from acting, and worked on daytime TV talk show productions. After studying journalism at USC, she worked for ABC News, NBC News, and a PBS show. On a whim, she studied fiction writing at UCLA Extension and her stories started pouring onto the page, inspired by Octavia Butler, Toni Morrison, Stephen King, and M. Night Shyamalan.
