Sequoia Awards
Sequoia Awards is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Redwood City California. Founded 33 years ago by Pete and Paula Uccelli with $600 in donations, they have granted $2.6 million in scholarships to date, rewarding high school seniors in their city for their volunteerism, community service and positive impact. They also acknowledge outstanding citizens and businesses in the community to show the impact that community service can make throughout our lives. True to their mission, everyone working in their organization does so on a volunteer basis, allowing almost all donations to go directly to the recipients. They hope that, in the future, their entire Board will consist of award recipients so that these extraordinary young people can continue their inspiration for a new generation of volunteers.
