Steve Stoops

Steve Stoops has worn multiple uniforms in service to his community as well as for the US Military. As a US Marine, Steve was selected for embassy duty assigned to embassies in Romania, Guatemala and La Paz Bolivia. In Guatemala, and on a separate occasion was on the receiving end of a RPG car bomb attack on the embassy. While serving his country on duty in La Paz, Bolivia, the Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie (tried as the butcher of Lyon) turned himself into Steve. Later in his career, Steve became a niche K-9 handler standing up the protection dog detail for Afghan President Hamad Karsai and lead the K-9 selection for the 22 SAS, SBS, Danish YeagerCore as well as advisor to the German KSK. Steve conducted the initial dog handler training as a foundation program for the FBI HRT. Steve served his Midwest community for 21 years as a SWAT team member, and 15 years as a canine officer. He received multiple combat crosses for duty of excellence having been in several active shooting incidents, and an edge weapon attack before retiring. Steve started two national canine organizations and has published two different working dog magazines. He’s also done celebrity personal protection including the CEO of Sony records.
