Brad Borkan is a motivational speaker and co-author of When Your Life Depends on It: Extreme Decision Making Lessons from the Antarctic and Audacious Goals, Remarkable Results.: How an Explorer, an Engineer and a Statesman Shaped our Modern World. He focuses on life-and-death decisions made by visionaries like the early Antarctic explorers, revealing lessons in leadership, teamwork, and the grit that can help us make better decisions today. Based on his work for Oracle and SAP, Brad has advised large and mid-sized organizations. He has presented at Antarctic conferences in Norway, Ireland and the UK, and lectured at the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge and on an Antarctic cruise ship. He is a guest writer for Crisis Response Journal and PwC’s Strategy + Business, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a member of the Scott Polar Research Institute, UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, James Caird Society, South Georgia (Antarctic island) Association, and Captain Scott Society.
