ANN B. PARSON is a science journalist who specializes in the environment, medicine, and technology. The Birds of Dog: An Historical Novel Based on Mostly True Events is her first work of fiction. Her previous books include The Proteus Effect: Stem Cells and Their Promise for Medicine, which was selected for Library Journal’s annual list of best science books, and Decoding Darkness: The Search for the Genetic Causes of Alzheimer's Disease, co-authored with Harvard Medical School neuroscientist Rudolph Tanzi.
