Humberto Alabado

Humberto is a native of Tucson, AZ, and is currently living in Tucson, semi-retired. He is involved in local community theatre as a performer and Director of shows. He returned to Tucson in 2014 after living in New York City for 32 years. In NYC, he worked and performed off-Broadway for several repertory companies. He was National Director of Service for a British Fortune 500 special events company (Compass Group). He has worked as Executive Supervisor for the following events: Met Gala, NY Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, NYC Ballet opening Night Galas, Kennedy Center Honors Gala, US Tennis Open, All-Season Opening Parties for HBO’s The Sopranos and Sex in the City, as well as many other events in Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, LA, and Toronto. In his youth, he traveled and performed in “Up with People”, an International, cross-cultural student organization. He performed and toured worldwide as a featured singer/dancer for 3 Super Bowl halftimes. He performed as a featured soloist for The Royal Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Denver Symphony Orchestra. In 2013, he was the Director for the Up with People show. In 2015, he directed and created the 2-hour “Up with People” show, that toured internationally until the Covid-19 shut down. Currently, he is Director and Choreographer of a local production of “In the Heights” at the Arts Express Theatre in Tucson, AZ, showing April 19 – May 2024.
