Jigar Shah
Jigar Shah is CEO of the Carbon War Room, an initiative of entrepreneurs leading market-driven solutions to climate change. In 2003, Jigar launched SunEdison to simplify solar services and pioneered a model that allows customers to purchase solar energy under long-term, predictably priced contracts. He is an expert on energy project finance, changing energy policy, and working with stakeholders. Jigar collaborates with some of the world’s leading influencers and guides policymakers around the globe on key issues of renewable energy and sustainability, while challenging colleagues and the industry to move solar forward. Previously, Jigar managed mergers/acquisitions, corporate strategy, and sales for BP Solar and was a Department of Energy contractor for alternative vehicles. He is a board member of Ready Solar, Prometheus Institute, and Greenpeace USA and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
