Luis Duarte

Luis Duarte was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. He knows that every individual has the potential to be a leader and that we can build (and leave behind) a better world through love, kindness, and increasing access to opportunities. Luis is a co-founder and CEO of Amoofy, a guided storytelling experience dedicated to assisting individuals and organizations in telling, recording, preserving, and sharing life stories and insights. All while deeply connecting with friends and family. He was a partner at Imaginable Futures (IF), a venture of The Omidyar Group and a global philanthropic investment firm. Luis is currently a portfolio advisor for IF. Previously, Luis served as the Chief Philanthropy Officer of ZOMALAB - the family office of Ben and Lucy Ana Walton, and as President of the ZOMA Foundation. Before this appointment, Duarte served as investments director at Gary Community Ventures (GCV) where he led the areas of innovation and impact investing. He has worked in the corporate and public sectors and served on multiple boards for governmental committees, venture funds, and NGOs. Currently, he is a Director of the board at B Lab, GCV, and multiple startups. He is also a Colorado Governors Fellow and an Unreasonable Institute Fellow. Luis is very curious and enjoys the outdoors, music, and traveling with his family. He draws energy from listening to others' personal life stories. He is deeply respectful of Mother Nature.
